Successful return of our free self-defence course
Following the interest in our first 5 week self-defence course, we were keen to run further sessions for women and girls that wanted to learn valuable techniques to improve their safety.
Taking place in Beechwood Primary School in Crewe, we were assisted by martial arts experts Andy Taylor and Darren Harper to teach basic releases and strike points, as well as covering important aspects of the law.
It was incredible to see so many new faces at our sessions this time around, with the cohort increasing from six to twenty-two!
Our mission to improve women’s safety in the local community even caught the attention of BBC Radio Stoke, who created a short video and BBC Sounds article which highlights the importance of our campaign.
This year we are looking forward to being able to run additional free self-defence courses to help more women grow in confidence and give them the skills to defend themselves if they are in a vulnerable position.
