Taxi marshal scheme increases safety over the festive period

Over the Christmas period, we were proud to launch our taxi marshal campaign over the busiest nights of the year for partygoers. Our initiative was kindly supported by the team at Alpha Omega Securities and the owners of Nakatchas nightclub in Nantwich.

The taxi rank is often a place of antisocial behaviour which puts women and young people in a vulnerable situation so we were keen to place the marshals here to improve their safety. The initiative ran over the 23rd, 24th, 26th and 31st December, when a lot of people would be out celebrating the festive season.

We were overwhelmed with the incredible feedback we got from the residents of Nantwich and taxi drivers.

Comments from drivers included; “It’s great to see this in Nantwich. I hope this carries on.”
“They keep the queue moving smoothly and everyone safe.”
“This should stop people fighting here. It just gets out of control when it kicks off.”
And we were delighted to hear feedback from a female taxi driver, saying: “I feel much safer with you guys around.”

We are committed to making society a safer place for vulnerable people and we are keen to find support so this initiative return for other busy times of the year such as the Nantwich Jazz and Blues Festival!
